Where the word Education came from?
The word “education” is derived from the Latin ēducātiō (“A breeding, a bringing up, a rearing”) from ēdūcō (“I educate, I train”) which is related to the homonym ēdūcō (“I lead forth, I take out; I raise up, I erect”) from ē- (“from, out of”) and dūcō (“I lead, I conduct”).

Types of Education.

Education in goes beyond what takes places within the four walls of the classroom. A child gets education from his experiences outside the school as well as from those within on the basis of these factors. There are three main types of education, namely, Formal, Informal and Non-formal.

Formal Education:

* School/Institutions involved

* Has hierarchical structure

* Uniform, full time and proper

* Subject oriented

* Certification/Degrees

Informal Education:

* Very long process

* Learning from experience

* Learning from home

* Learning from environment

* Learning from work

Non-Formal Education:

* Practical adult learning

* Diversity in methods and content

* Mobilizes local resources

* Build on learner's participation

* Real life examples of learning
